No argument there at all. I just had a west-cost to east-coast run (Ca to Oh,Oh to VT, VT to the water.) And am now westward bound (Boston to IL, WI to Denver). Not sure what's going after that. I'm hoping a load to Ca and then back - I asked for next weekend off.

Of course, I've made some stupid mistakes this past week - got an OOS for hours and I broke a trailer door hinge on the dock in Milwaukee. Who knows, I may not even have a job Monday.

Finally had a chance to get back on the forum and I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. There are some very good things here to consider and that's what makes this place so great! :yes2557:

Today is Sunday and he is of course sitting. :biggrin_25510: I don't know if it's just me but it seems like the weekend and night FM stays more confused than anything. Even though he isn't getting the miles he had hoped for at least the regular FM does have it together.

There are a couple of local companies in our area advertising for drivers. By local I mean they have a terminal physically located where we live. I do not know if they run only local or OTR but I may do some checking if hubby wants me to. It can't hurt to find out what they require etc. as far as experience. Unfortunately it seems that most places want at least a year. I do know they are much smaller outfits which seems to be what most are recommending.

It does help us though to know that lots of drivers go through this. Tomorrow is Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will bring something good his way.

Night/weekend FMs aren't there to assign loads. They're supposed to handle problems.

The regular FM should assign a load when it's apparent that delivery will be made on time. Of course, that's if the company operates according to less insane guidelines. . If it's policy that no load can be assigned (or pre-planned) before the current load is delivered... it's stupid, and the company is wasting money.

If your husband were getting more miles, it might have been beneficial to think of the weekends as 34 hour breaks.. but at 1800-2000 miles a week, I don't think a 34 is needed (from a legal point of view)

I can't really speak for you, but I don't think it would be a bad thing to check out the other carriers in the area. Sure, nothing may come of it, but in any event, you'll have more data with which to work.
