Replace ignition, had that same problem on 91 379 no power to dash, gauges, AC, jacks etc. 136$ delivered from rush ignition with new keys and push start fixed it. Also keep an eye on acc nwts or something like that fuse on left side bank it's a 20a, that will create similar problems..
I should hope, that after an year and a half, his issue is resolved. 1991 and 2013 are very different animals electronically anyway.
379 is all wires 'n circuits.... 389 is multiplexed gauges 'n cecu control. I'm sure he missed the op
Wrong, 2005 was the begining of the Namux system on 379's for the instruments only (which includes instrument backlighting). The truck in question however was a 2013 587 though, which is fully multiplexed.
Mine will do this if you don't let it cycle all way through it clicking and checking all the gauges. If you start during this time with lights on you will have no dash lights. Don't rush the start up
Apply brakes, Cut truck off, get out of seat for about 5 secs, get back in, start truck. I think there is a safety linked in with the seat (while your seated) for extended idle....
I'm having a similar issue, but not the same. My company just purchased a used 2012 382 day cab and after about a week of owning it, the batteries were dead. Looked into the cab and saw that the buttons were all lit up, but the ignition was off, the headlights were turned off as well. Looked to see if the dimmer switch had a cab light feature, which it doesn't, but it was dimmed all the way down. Still having problems with it, didn't know if someone has ran into this issue before or not?
Many had that issue, there was a CECU software update a few years back that fixed it. So the 1st step is to swing into a dealer and make sure that you have the latest update.
