Generally, 450 hp engines had less regen problems because they produced less soot than the 475.Rideandrepair and DF361 Thank this. -
Were both 450hp?

I think the one was originally built as a 475. There was thing international was doing several years ago where they were derating 475 down to 450 to reduce aftertreatment problems.
