Help i have a felony

So you just ran away from the cops? If that's the case I honestly wouldn't worry that much about it. When I was in school a good handful of recruiters told us that many of the companies actually look into stuff now rather than just saying FELON! and telling you to screw. Many people are felons for minor crap that just happen to fall under the felon charge. Have you looked into Construction or Trash companies? A kid in my class did a couple years for conspiracy to distribute drugs and had no problem getting a job. If your weren't charged with a Violent crime, or Domestic Violence, most people will hear you out. There will always be those who pretend they've never made a mistake in their life, screw them. Life goes on. SOMEBODY will take you, then you start building up a good work history and don't think about it anymore.

 

From my experience with Carolina Cargo I have worked for them three different times, They really don't care about your felony or how old it is.
If you get your loads on time and don't have accidents.cuss out the shippers, then you will do great there and get some needed experience. If you have a family and are the sole bread winner then you will not make enough money to support anyone much except your self unless your wife is also a worker somewhere. I was treated very well and I was paid well and Curtis always tried to get me to Los Angeles every Weekend to see my fiancé. I left there because I did not want to train a smoker and wished to remain with my co driver as getting a team mate that is compatible with is not an easy task. They rarely haul produce back from California like they did when I first started with them back in 2006. Now days when you go toe southern Cali with a load you will almost be assured that you will head down to Parris CA and drop and hook a load of clothes at Ross DC and head to Orlando Florida.
Now that fellas is almost like having a dedicated route.

 

I just got a pre hire from carolina cargo i live in florida. And they told me that my record wasnt a factor and im still on paper. Do they realy work with you? Should i keep looking

 

I am a student at a school in florida. I drove years ago. Now i have a couple felonies and have been directed to carolina cargo. I have a pre hire from them. Are they as bad as everyone says? I understand the low pay ect ect. But they seem to be the only company that gives us that screwed up a second chance. Yes. No. ??

 

Yes, they'll put you to work. Guys in my school that had bad records were told to apply there. I'd normally say depending on your felony you may want to see if you could explain yourself and get on somewhere else, but more than one? Carolina Cargo here you come! Stay clean, rebuild your rep there and in a year or so you should be good.

 

The really good thing about hiring felons, IMHO, is that HOS rules really don't bother us too much. We have no problem editing our logs to fit with getting the loads there on time. We also know how to live in closed spaces of a tractor trailer and spend time alone. Trucking and prison are very much alike. Parole officers and Dispatchers, same thing. Always someone watching your every move.

I will tell you this, I trust a ex con more then I do some of the companies I have worked for. A con tells you something, they mean it.
