Hey all!
I am going through my dad's old pictures and I am wondering if anyone knows what year/model this Diamond Reo is? Any help is appreciated!

The t style door handles are telling me ‘67-‘71. Mid ‘67 was first year. White merged Diamond T and Reo together and used the Autocar cab. 1972 went to different chevy truck style door push button handles.
Should be 112DT-SB. that is 112” bbc diesel tandem set back axle.
very rare then. Very rare now.ducnut and Brettj3876 Thank this. -

The Apollo was new for ‘74 and what it was called after White sold it off to private investors in ‘73. White royally screwed up two great custom makes by joining them together and offering nothing different between them at higher prices so sales tanked and they sold off the name and Reo’s Lansing plant. The 116 was 4 extra inches added to the hood to make it a full fender tilt instead of a 3/4 fender tilt like the T800’s have as an example.

Here is a model I built years ago of the original White owned C series 116’s. The first 116’s were western style forward axle trucks. The FL designation on the model number meant the western models were built on Freightliner chassis.Attached Files:

This is an original emblem during the White days. The diamond ring and font was slightly changed by new owners after the sell off per agreement with White. Look at pic on brochure @Hammer166 posted to compare.
ducnut Thanks this. -
Pretty sure I know where one of those is living, in IL, if the brothers still have it. I’ve known them ~40yrs and don’t believe they’ve ever sold a single item, in all that time.
SmallPackage and Hammer166 Thank this. -
They are pretty much extinct down in these parts. Junk yards don’t even have them. The last Diamond Reo’s I can remember seeing on the roads down here were “The Giant’s” that a mixer company ran for about a decade into the mid 80’s. They had the little german built Duetz air cooled diesel in them with short sloped hoods and tiny grills. Strange beasts. One of those long lost units was in a salvage yard 15 years ago that was cleaning everything out for land development in South San Antonio.
