Avoid Evergreen, in my opinion.....they are being sued BIG time and seem a bit unstable. Did you ever hang around that little trashy truck stop?? Just north of I-10, on route 29. Exit 10 I think. Ya never know........

My point is to use ALL the available resources you can find just not a couple. Not all companies require two years experience and even some that say they do sometimes give a new driver a chance. Not all companies have insurance and are self-insured. You might catch a company that needs a driver right then and there and it might just be a really good company. You can do whatever you want and I've always said if it we're me I'd look at all places. It just seems that alot of new drivers are looking at just recruiters and I think recruiters do not have your best interest at hand.big wheels Thanks this. -
Once again you are right! Its been 66 days sents I completed CDL school. I trusted the school to find me job as promised. I found out that was a waste of time. I did have 3 perhires.Which I found out that does not really mean anythang. Those 3 the last time I talked to them. Said there not going to be able to do anythang until next year. 1 even told me not to call many more ,ha ha ha. A round my area there was a dump of drivers. One company called Ever Green trans. Laid off all there drivers. Con way let go some drivers. GP closed down laid all. A few mom & pop tow truck cpompany closed the doors. AS you can see. I did alot of leg work. Alot of door to door with reply need 2 years. Or just plain no! I have nothing on me that should be hurting at all. nothing on dmv last was 1999. crimal nothing last last 1999 fighting. Have worked every day of my life untill now. I've been laid off sents 06/16/09. I wish this wasn't my only choise, With out waiting 2 or 4 more months. This unemployment is just killing me slowly. I've cut back so far on every thang. I don't want to wait until I loose every thang. To do somethang about it. I mean! I do see you point I do unstand what your saying. Thats some very good infomation. To let Myself & other not to only look at recruiters. I wish I had more time. I hoping by the time I get my year in. The ecomony will turn around. Thank you for your time!!

I believe at no fault of yours you're in an area that is just lousy for truck drivers. You're getting down to two options, either change jobs or relocate. But you know in your mind you have given a good shot at getting hired and that most than the rest.
I have just one more suggestion. Can or have you tried the base or government jobs? On paper they don't look so good but the benefits are good and you can make a living at it. The Navy base there is big so you might want to check.big wheels Thanks this. -
well went with werner and finished orentation and started driving been 5 days and have so far logged aliitle of 40 hours guess it's pretty good. Don't really have any complaints so far but we did just get started of course...

Gas hauler I thank about goverment jobs. I have only looked at some web links to job listing that has goverment jobs. Other than that I would not know how to go about that. I went to the unemployment center here. It seems if they dont have a listing for them, They not want to help in that area. I could go to the base and drive around. But after 9/11. I don't know what I'll in up in. What do you thank. some idea. thanks for your time.

Fairly tough to find any of the OTR companies that are worth the air space their name takes up. None of them care about the drivers, just reality. So use them to get to the end of your means. Just like they do to drivers. If you can benefit from, and tolerate them to get what you need thats one think. They all make decisions based on profit and loss, if you make them money you will survive if not your gone. Keep your eyes open and watch your back, nobody else has it. Becareful, good luck.
Pick the type of company doing what you want go talk to them, then see what there looking for and do what you have to do.
