I'd go with the Connex.
-
Me too, the connex has some of the best audio around.
-
What about galaxy, My uncle told me to go with one of the higher powered galaxys, how do they compare to connex?
-
I have tried both a hgiher powered all in one type radio, Connex 4600 HP doing 200+ pep watts and a regular Peaked and tuned CB into a box (palomar 450) Right now I am running the CB and the Palomar. Reason being, it gets out better.
If you are looking just to stomp the ground locally, then the higher powered connex or galaxy might just be your ticket. They are great, get out better then just a regular CB but they just can't get out like a box can. -
You want a high power galaxy, look into the 95T.
-
I love the star lite background of the high priced galaxy, some guys on the cb forum I'm on told me to run an amp and use my cobra 148 to drive it, I dont know what I'm going to do.
-
You're Cobra 148 is the best bet if you're going to run a box to add to the power. I don't much care for the China models....but the older philli models or the Taiwan radios are the best. Malaysia made.....I don't like because RCI made them.....and cheaper components. A properly setup 148 CANNOT be beat for audio RX and TX.

Mine was phillipines made sir, 1990 model
