Trucks have sleepers but they give you a hotel card. Not grimy bed bug motels but best westerns or better mostly. Small 32in coffins but if you have to take a 10 in one you get compensated extra its something like 250$ once in a blue moon type of thing
I'm a homebody if I didn't care about being gone for extended periods id still be out there.
Help me not screw this up

Thanks Brett, I already took a peek at Schlumberger and they don't seem to be hiring right now, but what was the name of the contractor that you were through and do you know any other contractors that they use?
Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
Streetroddreams, 389driver, Mike2633 and 4 others Thank this.

I'd recommend taking a trip down to schlumberger's yard in person and ask to talk to Steve Ndjoka (funky last name I prob didn't spell it right) he's in charge of the yard there. You'll pull up to the main entrance gate call the number and tell the guys you wanna talk to Steve about possibly working there. In the oilfield that usually works a lot better than online apps, they wanna see you man to man before they consider you.
Good luck man

Wow! Thanks for all the great info!

Most service(oilfield) companies are hiring again and most are doing a 15/6 or some similar schedule.........Halliburton,FTS,BJ Services.......C&J Energy is actually hiring and helping you get a CDL..............100 hr weeks are the norm. Good Luck!!

I find it real hard that they're not hiring. When I left Ohio a few months ago they were bringing in guys from all over the place they were so short handed.
Doesn't matter if your greener than green or been driving 20 years if they hire you they'll fly you down to Texas and you'll go threw a 2 week driving school/ cement 101 class. -
Well on their website I didn't see any driver jobs, which struck me as funny because they are global. I'm probably just not looking in the right place.

It won't be listed as driver. It'll be something along the lines of bulk equipment operator or something similar.
Best bet would be to go down in person and have a face to face instead of applying online. This past summer they held a job fair doing on the spot interviews. Unlike most places nowadays they'd rather have you come down to size you up so to speakChris the newbie Thanks this. -
@Mike2633 is an employment guru in that area.
Chris the newbie Thanks this.
