Just my opinion, but if your over 21 and have a class a with a clean driving/criminal record, get a driving job dont waste your time in a warehouse. I did that for 2.5 years and in order to drive for them I would have to have 5 years exp. If US foods is the same way you would just be wasteing your time......because if they don't want you, you would have to pay to go back to school to get a driving job...

let them know and apply for the job cause if you dont someone else will and you ll never know if you could have gotten the job, somtimes it seems the companies will hire the guys without experience cause its easier to teach a puppy new tricks than change old dogs habits

I have applied for the job as a driver thats why i think i have a better chance for the job cause if they are to hire me as warehouse then i dont see why they cant just send my app over to the hiring manager for drivers

Yes tell them right away. It should only help your chances because you'll be a step ahead of any other newbie coming in there. They should be glad you have your cdl and they might even start training you sooner than you think as long as you're a good worker and ON TIME ! Be on time every day because that's extremely important as a driver ! Show them you are dependable and on time.

Go for the interview,if they want to hire you, compare both companies pay rates, benefits, work scheduals etc., go with the one that fits you best. Most likely the Lowes job is for the overnight shift cause that's where they put newbies unless you are applying for sales positions.

Also at Lowers you will get to see all kinds of trucks delivering; dry vans, flatbeds, containers. Talk to the drivers, find out the good and bad points of what they do. That way you'll have an idea what part of the industry interests you most and that'll save you alot of "trial and error".

if you got a call from Lowe's to be a driver, toss it into the trash.....low pay, under $17 per hour, crap benefits, not enough hours each week, and when there are no deliveries, you are either working in the store, for the same wages as the sales clerks (not your drivers pay) or you are going home for the day...just try and make 40 hours a week at Lowe's, and forgedaboud over time, Lowe's DOES NOT PAY overtime.....

i know..... i worked for them years ago.....they will spend $60 million dollars a year on NASCAR sponsorship, but scream at YOU for getting over time....!!!

he ain't gonna have too much time to talk to any drivers, if he works the loading platform at Lowes.....the trucks gotta get in and out........he'll have to restock as he unloads......again, i know, i worked for them myself....worse job a person could ever get......
