If you got the extra money I would look into getting the suspension or tickets removed. I would also look in the yellow pages for a smaller company that might be willing to over look the criminal aspect! I would also look at things outside of van freight ie flatbed dry bulk if trucking is really what you want I would also try trans am
Haul gravel, concrete, building supplies locally, anything to get a start and some years of experience. I started in a gravel truck as my first paid job, but learned driving in my uncle's truck lowbedding equipment, and did my driver's exam in his truck, pulling his bed, with a Hitachi excavator chained to it. After my test, and passing it, my uncle said great now i can take the day off, go deliver that, and then pick up a dozer here (hands me a location written down on paper) and bring it back to the house. I dropped my uncle off at his house and left. But he only had a day or so a week of work to offer me, so i got a job at a gravel pit hauling gravel to residences and job sites as well. Still enjoy hauling gravel to this day.
It's always good to be careful, even on TTR. We get the occasional stalker and when we do they get dealt with pretty quick. I deleted some posts from this thread for just that reason. Good luck on your search. You've had some good advice so far. There's a job for you somewhere. It might not be what you want at first but it's a step in the right direction.
It's an insurance liability issue for major carriers that get subsidized government funding for vocational training of applicants ie Prime Inc, Swift, CREngland..when we went live authority, tried to bring on a couple with felony shy of 5 years and our insurance provider told us after 7 yes should be ok but unfortunately, we couldn't put em in seat...try Roehl, CFI. I'd suggest Maverick Transportation, they just began their own in house CDL program and maybe more inclined to work case by case. But hey, remember, you got your CDL, congratulations! And don't listen to negative toned comments..it is your God given birthright to be forgiven..Good luck!
Oh boy, I feel dumb (no comments from the peanut gallery) ... I said Brandy, when your name is Rachel. I really wish someone would show me where these subsidies are because I can't find them and I would like to make more money doing that.
