I can run as many loads as my hrs allow. Since I drop and hook the trailers airing them up is not really an option I will loose a load a day .
4 loads/ 480 miles 4.5 loads/ 540 miles 5 loads/ 600 miles 5.5 loads 660 miles or 6 loads 720 miles? 5, 6, or 7 days a week? Will you see the same trailers throughout the month? If so, I might consider fabricating an 8-pronged fork for the standard glad-hand air hose (allowing you to fill 8 trailer tires at once while you catch up your log book). 120psi has a ~4% improvement in rolling resistance compared to 80psi. At 55mph, that is roughly a 2% improvement in fuel economy (I.e. 6.00 to 6.12)
In the perfect world or in and airplane. But in the trucking world I suppose he would have to travel through such cities as Tulsa, St. Louis, and maybe Indianapolis so I would state that at 55 MPH you couldn't run that run in one tour and that's why I ask. You can't use "regular" math to calculate average trips when you have a variable which in this case is speed. That's why such things as algebra, trig and calculus were needed.
My cousin has the exact truck that yours is specified but 9 sp. U can convert 9 sp into 13. It's probably the egr/dpf to blame for bad mpg. 6 mpg isn't that bad than what i get. My dad is bidding on 2011 prostar with isx 500 hp. 13 sp, and 3.58 rear axles. fleet air filter might work. Most guys say it helps, sometimes it doesn't. Mostly depends on engines. They claim up to .5 mpg gain.
I generally drive at night so I don't often hit traffic. But even during the day, at 55mph you will often cruise through many cities without touching the brakes. Aside from major Metros, it is really only peak traffic times when things move slower than say 45, & if that's the case I'll usually just take a break and preserve my hours... Not saying this is practical for the OP, just showing that 8+mpg is easily achievable in the "real world" with a little planning.
It was converted originaly a 9spd. But I don't have egr dpf problems im just looking for add on to get me my mpg better. When I was running regional I was gettting 7mpg but now im local and it has came down. I know this might seem negative or lazy but im not gonna air up every trailer. I would like mods to my tractor some loads arent even 100 miles round trip lets say 35 miles one way then I d/h add air again 35miles d/h its to much.
Doing the local work I do right now the truck I drive gets maybe 4 on a good day.... Chicago metro traffic in a ready mix truck with a 3306C LOL. That will do it every time!!!
