Under the Uniform Reciprocity Act you are not required to surrender you CDL for bound. You should go to the PD and get your licence back! You where lucky in Iowa It is against FMCSA regulations to Drive a CMV without a CDL in your possession.

I'll be brief, but you must remember...that license doesn't belong to YOU....property of the state or federal govt. I would have gone back to the house and applied for a replacement, wouldn't have gotten a hard copy right away but would of had temporary stating your hard copy was being mailed.....Oh.....I forgot to mention....driving is a privileged ........ not a right. And lastly,....NEVER discuss your violation or argue with an officer PERIOD!!!!!!!! This person is an agent of the court..as well as the lawyer that your forking over your hard earned $ to. Wife was watching COPS on tv last evening....was listening to an officer questioning an crying inmate..."so you need to accept responsibility for the wrong that you did, right? You smoking that crack then hitting that woman." ....to which the upset arrested nodded to the affirmative saying yes.... That officer is an agent of the courts...Her testimony could be used in court!!! Keep your mouth shut, discuss nothing, but if you feel compelled to talk, be mindful of your words..they can and will be used against you in a court of law. Now, the best thing to do is just follow the law...if you don't violate...you will probably keep yourself out of the cross-hairs.......

Wrong. He is an Illinois resident ticketed in Illinois.

The back side of the Illinois ticket CLEARLY states that it is a legal license. At least it was the last time I got a ticket many long years ago.

    Appearing in Court
If you receive a ticket for a minor traffic violation, you are required to post bond in the form of cash, a bond card or a valid driver’s license. If your driver’s license was posted and you pay the ticket before the first court date, your driver’s license will be returned. If you fail to pay the ticket or to appear in court, a second court date may not be automatically set. Failure to appear on the second date will result in loss of bond and/or suspension of your driver’s license until you satisfy the court. If you are under age 18 and are required to appear in court, you must have a parent/legal guardian present at the court appearance.

An Illinois driver ticketed in another state that is a member of the Non-Resident Violator Compact has two options: 1) stay in the ticketing state and argue the case or pay the fine, or 2) sign a promise to comply with the traffic ticket. This promise allows the driver to continue the journey and handle the ticket by mail from home. This courtesy also is extended to non-residents from compact member states who are ticketed in Illinois. Failure to comply with the signed promise to appear will result in suspension by the home state motor vehicle department.

    Shredfit1,.....

"Yes, my point is refering to where we are going in the USA. Specificly our Constitutional freedoms."

If your truly interested in "our Constitutional freedoms" you have to legally position yourself to enjoy these freedoms....there is only a small handful of folks that have done so...."Remember that none of the People have rights under the Constitution of the United States, which is a compact between the several States and the United States. Your rights are preserved by the local contract, which is your state constitution. The federal Bill of Rights does not
apply to you, except where it has been replicated in your state constitution. Neither does
the federal government have authority over you, unless you are a resident in a federal
enclave or become a federal employee (social security contract)."
