Help. No experience, no CDL

swift has a terminal in jurupa valley ca. intersection of i15 and 60 freeway.
you can put in hometime anywhere you want. swift policy is 1 day off for every week you are out.

 

It shouldn't be a problem as long as he is OTR and not regional.

 

i am gonna go to a training school here in LA county and found a trucking school which has financial grant from government and I filled their application waiting for response.

when I get my cdl from there how can I find a job that will hire me? I am 21 and will be 22 in September. Also my regular DL won’t be 1 year old.

 

When will your DL be 1 yr. old?

I checked that I can get the cdl without 1 year dl in ca. but many say companies will require 1-2 years for insurance

I am willing to literally work any job and any schedule and anywhere as my first job. OTR as well to gain that first year experience and my plan is-

to gain that 1 year experience and then find a niche high paying trucking job in a lcol area where I can afford a home in and settle there.

that’s my ultimate goal.

what do you suggest?
I can do physical labor in food Service if that is required.

Do a hitch in the US Navy SeaBees and drive trucks there. Also, can get a home loan with no down payment & lower interest rates because you'll be a veteran. I used USAA Federal Bank to finance a home. That bank is for veterans and their families.
