SeaBees will train you to drive trucks. Wouldn't hurt to attend cdl school anyway, before going into the SeaBees. This way, you can breeze right through their program.
Not positive, but I think for a VA home loan, you must serve 24 mos. active duty.
I think for education benefits is 90 days.
Don't hold me to this until you talk to a recruiter that's up to date on this.

Nevada is the state I chose. I've lived in Tennessee, Florida, Texas and now Nevada.
In Nevada, there's no state income tax, so keep more of your paycheck.
No food taxes at grocery stores.
    Low property taxes.
VA Hospital in Las Vegas and Reno.
Home prices and rents are starting to drop.
    Plenty of trucking jobs also.
If a spouse doesn't also drive trucks, plenty of good union jobs for her. Friend of mine works in a casino restaurant and makes average a little over $100K taxable income per year. I know this for a fact because I've seen her income tax paperwork when she files taxes each year.
Lots of good tips also which aren't taxed. She has excellent health insurance and pension benefits thru the union.

our main goal is home ownership and stability. We don’t care about weather, outdoor activities or anything like that.
