home prices look expensive in Las Vegas and Reno

@Carolina Junkman --
Hey, check this out:
Free trucking school now offered to South Carolina residents
-- LCarolina Junkman Thanks this. -
That's nationwide right now.
A couple or three thousand, or more, new construction, single family homes are being built right now in Las Vegas/Henderson area. Shortage of homes keeps prices higher. By the time you get in the workforce, save for a down payment, have good credit score, home prices will be lower. Rent for awhile. -
In mindwest they are cheap. Even in decent sized cities. Indianapolis etc.lual Thanks this.

Whatever you prefer. Indianapolis is high crime and taxes. Live where you're most comfortable though.
If I ever leave Nevada, I'll move to Florida or Asia. Lived in both places and love both places. -
What about Birmingham Alabama? I read a comment that it is a LTL hub or something and housing is the cheapest prolly from whole country
-
You're still young though with a career just beginning. Plenty of time to plan well and for what's in the best interest of yourself and your family.
South Dakota is also a good state with no state income taxes. Several truckers have relocated there for the tax benefits and also plenty of trucking jobs there. -
Housing is pretty cheap in Birmingham and the reason is high crime. People want to live in safe communities.
The panhandle of Florida is also pretty good.
