One comment to me that they should open 10 meters to truckers since all that is there is static .....

Yes.........so THEY think! If they had their way, they'd have 10 Meters, 12 Meters, 15 Meters------even the police frequencies! Nothing would EVER be enough! But you let someone stroll into their house and help themselves to the food in the fridge.....WHOA!!!!! Why, how DARE you!!! THAT'S against the law; you can't just break into my house. QUICK, call the law! Well? Isn't THAT the same thing as "breaking in"? Sure it is not exactly like a physical act of sneaking into someone's house, but the effect IS the same. The people are doing the same thing, really: STEALING something that belongs to somebody ELSE. With 10 Meters, or the non-existent "freeband", these frequencies BELONG to someone else by virtue of licensure. Like filching a leg of lamb out of the fridge, plopping one's A * * on a frequency with the lame excuse "Ah don't hear nobody a-talking, so hit's OK for me to use this h'yar channel"! It is illegal and the "cops" (FCC) will come after you.

"Bu-bu-bu-but, THAT'S different: I ain't doin' no harm by talking on them channels when they's nobody on there". Yes, you ARE doing harm! And that is the attitude of so many unknowing CBers. (I've got a "right" to use them channels) No you don't!!!! Truth is, there are 40 channels (count 'em-----40), most of them who go BEGGING, while CBers whine about 'we ain't got enough channels'!

Yes, there's a segment that doesn't know that those "band" switches are illegal and will lead them where they don't belong. They've been told by CB myth and legend that there's "extra" channels free for the taking. It is STILL their responsibility to READ the rules (Part 95).

I wished they'd make the CB not so sensitive to interference, noise, etc.

They oughta consider switching CB over to FM. That's probably why there's so many illegals over on them "extree" channels.....sometimes the radio is noisy as hell when skip rolls in.....I've heard of CB users with exports flipping to the 10 meter segment or the out bands because they're quieter.
