I think that horse has been beat to death, at least in my circles with these EPA motors. The more HP the shorter the life. Most of these new big hp motors will be in need of an in frame at 500,000 miles, or even less. The tolerances and high combustion kills these things in short order. Especially when you use the manufacturers recommended service intervals.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

Is the op talking about a twin turbo? Those are the main problem.

The twin turbo acert were bxs, mxs, nxs, spd. The twin turbos are not the problem. It is the high comp. Pistons and vva's.

Twin turbos equal heat and more heat being dumped into the engine at 60psi.
Even the cold side of turbo cooks the paint. And the cac bakes off paint. Exhaust gaskets get wrecked from the excess heat also. Biggest mistake CAT ever made was twin turbos.

The 6nz is completely different from the other single turbo Engines just like the old 3406e
The bxs, mxs, nxs, spd are factory twin turbo the 6nz is single and they were pre-emotion engines before they came out with the new emotions laws
