I did loads as company driver and we picked up at ltl carrier terminal in Cincinnati OH(Conway) had BOL that had 40 drops all up a down the west coat and Montana. We were just hauling it to their other terminal in Portland Oregon. They would unload the truck and deliver everything themselves on their trucks.
We were running as team they could mover all that freight faster for the customers. They used their drivers go pick all different customers around Cincinnati Ohio. Then put all that different freight on our truck and we would team run it to Portland Oregon. They unload our truck and they did all the ltl deliveries themselves.
I did basically the same thing at Landstar hauling kitchen cabinets. Single driver we would pickup truck full of kitchen cabinets that are basically custom make for someone house. We took them to a third party trucking company that had straight trucks. Because you can’t deliver kitchen cabinets to someone’s house in semi truck. Plus we had several orders on the truck. The third party company unload our truck and put everything on their straight truck to deliver the kitchen cabinets

Someone called me, so OP, IF YOU ARE STILL THERE HAVE THE TRUCK TAKE THE LOAD TO WHERE YOU WERE HIRED TO TAKE IT, AND DROP IT THERE. IF THERE IS AN ISSUE, RESOLVE IT AFTER YOU ARE AT THE RECEIVER AS YOU CONTRACTED FOR.
This isn’t rocket science, a lot of loads are packaged up for movement to another location as part of a daisy chain and you may be just one segment of that chain and the broker did not inform you.
ALSO KEEP RECORDS OF YOUR ATTEMPTS TO RECTIFY THIS AND DO NOT USE THE BROKER AGAIN.Big Road Skateboard and Beaver9 Thank this. -
Unloaded at the moment. It was overthinking but had no answer from the broker. The after-hours wasn't responding. Nobody picked up the phone.
Siinman, Midwest Trucker, dosgatos and 1 other person Thank this. -

Luckily, it was Cross doc and unloaded.dosgatos Thanks this. -
I just hope this wasn't a double broker who booked loads to Cali, but had you bring that cargo to their warehouse in IN. Whats the name of the broker?
Long FLD Thanks this. -

This might be helpful full I don’t know. I was doing one of my Landstar loads and customer in Long Island NY refused to unload my trailer because I only had standard 53 dry van. Customer claims they requested a 53 dry van trailer with lift gate. They had no unloading dock and refused the load. I think load came out of California or some place far. So I couldn’t just return the load.
I called the Landstar agent he said customer did not request lift gate trailer since he had paperwork when they took the load. He called customer they still refused load. He told me to take load to Roadway terminal and they would deliver the load when roadway had lift gate trailer.
If the rate con say one pickup and one delivery in Illinois you might be able to to put the load in storage. If load has multiple drop all across the country. Just have them pay the freight rate to every drop. If you cannot get hold of broker hopefully you can before the first delivery. Make first delivery and see what happens if they take everything or your stuck with the other dropsBeaver9 Thanks this. -
Did a load last week, similar to your story. It went to a food service company in Green Bay. I was alarmed on the multiple drops when I only sign for one. I got clarified later. I just deliver it to the one drop in that company dishes it out to the different locations. It was a spot market load and fortunately I got the info within half an hour.
