I drive an expedite van. I do know there is a site just for that but I posted there like 2 days ago and have yet to get a reply. I just need to know, will a vehicle pass DOT if there is no audio cue for ANY of the dash lights. (No clicking for turn signal, no chiming when you leave your keys in) BUT it all still works like it should minus the audio. Do you think the van will pass inspection?? Thabk you expressly for your replies.

(And yes, I understand that these will mostly be people's opinions and personal experience)

I've never had a DOT inspection where they get that detailed. YMMV

not that i am aware of. only if each light does not work, will be the problem,

as for not getting any answers, the past couple of days, you do realize it's the holiday season, and many are on vacation, from not only work, but from the computers as well....????

My new Kenworth turn signals make no noise at all. I'm not even sure if visible lights on the dash are a requirement. They really only care if the exterior lights work. Any other noises in the cab, keys in the ignition, lights left on, etc.. are not an issue with commercial vehicle inspectors.

If we talk an expediate van, it must be something like Sprinter so it should not matter but for a semi truck you won't pass the inspection for the air brakes, if your buzzer don't work when the PSI gets below 60 PSI.

Actually either an audible OR visual signal is required, Also it’s 55 psi both for a violation and OOS, not 60.

I've driven trucks that the "maracas ' from the turn signals ,flashers and more..could be turned off on the dash menu , so wouldn't seem to matter. If you're talking about a scale house inspection? I've always been sitting in the seat actuation the controls, while they're 15 feet in front of me.
