Help! Stuck in Seattle-Rear end gone!

    Three weeks since the last post here, may be over and done with, but IMHO, BridggetAnn was given some very good information; Hopefully she & hubby sat back, sorted it out, then chose the best route of action. Another point, and while I'm offering this with gritted teeth, sometimes it's a "necessary evil"; regardless of whom is at fault.
    FILE A LAWSUIT!!!!!!
    (1) To indicate you're serious about this, not going to be blown off.
    (2) Many times the "deep pocket" companys find it cheaper to settle out of court, leaving the high dollar lawyers in their office twiddling thumbs.

    you should have been able to smell gear oil if the leak was that big (4 gallons)

    Losing all the oil out of a diff. would make a mess. You would see evidence of oil blowing onto the frame, the rear diff.,inside sidewalls of the tires, etc. NO WAY you lost all that oil without it showing up somewhere. Who ever changed the seals forgot to refill the diff. period.

    the should have filled the diff all the way up after fixing even one wheel seal....never mind two... grrrr

    further more all boxes should be checked at all pm service intervals....:biggrin_25516:

    Any idea how much to replace clutch and flywheel on peterbilt 386 isx automatic? My mechanic says $1800 for labor if I get the parts

    Should be 10 hours labor. If he is a $180/hr. mechanic he has the skill and know how to do the job in 4 hours....,.,,.
