I once picked up a loaded trailer like that, had to call a tow truck to lift the rear up.

Well if he had and got up to highway speed all it would have done was one good tap on the brakes and the problem would have been solved. I lost count over the years of the amount of tandems sitting on or around a road with the back side of the trailer on the road. I seen this happen too. Nasty!

Back up with the trailer brake set to raise the trailer then set the truck s break to hold the trailer up. Release the pins and get back in the truck. Release your truck brake first but leave your foot on the pedal. Once the brakes have released on the truck let go of the pedal and let the trailer slam down that's how I've had to do it in the past when someone does this to a trailer I have to pick up. It's worked every time. Just be careful not to raise the trailer so high that it damages the airbags
Panhandle flash Thanks this. -
Is the trailer air ride? If none of the above answers work, I wonder if you could back up tight to a dock or wall or something, dump the air and maybe that would take enough tension off to release them.

Maybe @1278PA could punch them back in for you if you get him mad enough.
