You checked the batterys? Could be they are right on the edge of being able to start the truck due to being so worn out. Obvious i know, but eaiser to rule out the obvious before you open the can of worms no?

Check your fuse box for corroded fuses. It’s possible the one for the ecm isn’t supplying the necessary voltage to make fuel system to operate correctly.
If it runs fine once you get it started on ether this is more than likely your problem.
It’s either that or a bad check valve allowing fuel to back flow to the tanks.'88K100 and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this. -
Does it continue to run, or die?
Keepforgettingmypassword and Last Call Thank this. -
How long will it stay running? How long ago was the injectors done?

Check the voltage to the electric fuel pump/the transfer pump. Especially if you just changed the oil and fuel filters recently.

omg, stop using ether.
find another mechanic who is competent and let them figure it out.
If it is a Cummins bring it to a Cummins shop, an actual one not one with a "certified mechanic".Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this. -
Ether is like meth for trucks, one wiff and it seems like you are using it till the day it dies
Arctic_fox, Last Call, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well, a little more information is needed.
My truck won't start without ether is not a whole lot to go on to put you in the right direction to fix the problem.
Something like it cranks and cranks but won't start in the morning or it won't start even after running as soon as you shut it off.
Maybe even it started right up until I had the injectors and fuel pump replaced.
What made you decide to replace said parts to start with?
Was it doing this to start with?
Information is the most important part of any diagnostics before starting to throw parts at anything. -
Seems like it may be getting air in the system. Filter o ring or fuel line not tight enough maybe.
Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this.
