Those thrust bearings are mostly steel and part of the bearing shells are to but the thrust washer is more substantial.
I would take a good look before assuming you can just throw in a new thrust washer.
My bigger concern is the thrust face on the crank and where the washer bears on the block. Just the color and texture in the picture looks like it was wedged and hot on it’s way out

Update. Took the #6 bearing cap off. Bearings discolored a little bit. It’s a 2014 Coronado Fitzgerald Glider. 600k miles. There wasn’t a washer at all on the front side of #6 only back side. It looks to be same standard size as the new ones. He called a Mechanic he knows. Mechanic suggested replacing all rods and mains. $2500 cost. My friend doesn’t want to waste any more money on this engine. Wants to fix only #6, and thrust washers. The engine has a head gasket leak, along with a pretty bad front cover leak, He’s planning on putting a whole reman engine in eventually. Especially since he saw IPD stamped on some of the parts. Another Fitzgerald story. Hopefully he can get another year at least before it blows. Thanks everybody.

That’s exactly what happened. He says he accidentally banged a dock last week. The engine is old style. Only has 2 instead of 4 halves. Trying now to get the new bearing rolled in with the washers attached. Not going very well so far.

Take all the mains loose just a little.
Just be careful because if you go to much you can tear up the seals

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Well, we got the top bearing and thrust washers rolled in. Caps snugged up. Tomorrow borrowing a big torque wrench. All I did was bar the engine over.
