You will receive a bail notice in the mail. It may take 30 days to get this. It will explain your options.
1. Plead guilty and pay the fine / bail identified in the notice.
2. Post the bail and do nothing. It will forfeit as payment of the fine.
3. Post the bail and request trial by written declaration. If you choose this
option and are found guilty at trial you can appeal and get an automatic
trial by court or jury.
4. Post the bail and request a trial by court or jury.
5. Don't post the bail and appear in person to plead guilty or not guilty
Since there was no DOT inspection you will not get any CSA 2010 points, however your Ca. CDL will have points for all convictions and the standards are available at www.dmv.ca.gov

The point system doesn't matter if you are trying to get a job. Many companies will allow 3 moving violations in one year and four in three years. The date is the date of infraction and not the conviction. They are probably just backed up in the courts.
You didn't pick a good time to get tickets. You need to respect that CDL more if you are going to stay in the business. Instead of studying the ticket, study your driving habits. Atleast put you a radar detector in your 4 wheeler.
Unless you have cleavage, all that good stuff doesn't work.

I'll try to clarify your points question based on my interpretation. If both speeding violations are 4 points, then you have 4 points now. At the end of one year you will have 3 points (4 - 33.333% = 2.666). When the second conviction goes on, you will have 7 points. Then in another year you will have 5 points, two years you will have 2 points and in three years 0 points.
This means that it appears that for at least two years after the second conviction you are one speeding violation from a 30-day suspension of your CDL and a 60-day disqualification from operating a CMV.
This is only correct if your state handles this like my state does. You can see why a company would be reluctant to hire you. If they spend money training you and you get a speeding violation, they lose their investment.
If you really want a professional driving job, I don't see how you can do anything but spend whatever it costs to get this violation reduced to an equipment violation. I have spent as little as $200 and as much as $600 to do this. With a CDL the driving school thing is out but a good attorney can make things happen. Then you have to start driving the speed limit. You screwed up and you are going to pay. I would pay with cash and not my driving record if I were you. This will be your first lesson in how much more everything costs a professional driver!

I would go and get a truck lawyer. I say that because everyone is talking about points but what I'm concerned about is the time you go to court. Maybe a year is too long and that's the break the officer gave you. I know I was found not guilty once because I had a right to a speedy trial. It would be worth checking into.
