Usually the higher CCA shorter life of the battery. Plates are too close together. I go for anywhere from 750 to 850 CCA heat and vibration kill batteries fast just whats been working for me I usually see four or more years outa mine and yes I live in north central mn and don't have no starting problems.

If you have one bad battery always, always replace all 4. One weak battery will ruin 3 good ones. Had a buddy putting new batteries in every 6 months one at a time...

Hi Marco, I agree, if one is bad, that will ruin the others. ( and put a strain on the alternator) Vibration is the batteries worst enemy. The stuff on the plates falls off and collects on the bottom, and shorts out the cell. Batteries have come a long way, as well as smother rides, but years ago, it was not unusual to go through batteries once a year. If you never go where it's cold, (like below 0), 3 might be ok.

Of course, I have a T600 and only has 3 batteries. I recently had to crimp on new ends on the cables. They were trashed. It's does really good now.

Like the others said, definitely check your connections and cables for corrosion and clean them up. As far as batteries I've always had good luck with Interstate. I have 4 of the 31MHD in my Freightliner. 950 CCA. The 2 I recently pulled out of my f350 were 10 years old before they started failing.

you can buy a small spray can of corrosion protection. it sprays a red color & keeps corrosion off cable ends & battery connections. I use it on all electrical connections, alt, starter, wires e.t.c.

I'm bringing this thread back to life. DEKA BATTERIES ARE JUNK !!!!! I just had my experience with a set of 3 and only lasted 2 1/2 years, when with others had longer. Others that have used DEKA have been changing at 18 months to 2 years. I went back to Interstate, JCI makes them. I went with the MHD's , costs, $314.00 out the door for 3. A friend that works there hooked me up. That was he's discount.

Man, you're complaining about 2 1/2 years? I'd love to get that long out of them. I switched up to deep cycles this time, and went from 3 to 4 batteries. Only time will tell.
