I believe mine are 1,100 CCA but can't remember. Looks like I overpaid for them $500 for 4 from O'Rielly's but I got 4 years out of the last set. Odd fact that is the opposite of what you would think - warmer climates are harder on and reduce the overall useful life of batteries faster than colder climates. That was what a battery salesman once told me according to their sales/warranty data.

If you over paid then I seriously over paid.

I got 4 of the deep cycle 1100 CCA from O'Rielys. Paid $850 for 4 and that was after turning my other 4 in for a core.

I ask about the deep cycle this time around and they didn't recommend them for my application since I'm local. I don't run a fridge or microwave nor an inverter. I bought an inverter but never install it. I have always gotten 4 to 5 years on batteries so theses DEKA surprise me how short they lasted for my application. Will see what these new Interstate MHD will do. This one driver I know told me he runs 8 AGD I think he called them which are gel batteries cause that is what his application requires, its in an international 2012 and runs an apu etc.

Do not just change the 1 battery. A bad battery will drag down the other good batteries making them weaker.
Now you have 3 weaker batteries dragging down the 1 good battery which weakens the new battery.
Also usually the bad battery pulls down the system voltage far enough that your alt. charges continuesly, over charging the good batteries which doesn't do them any good.

Yeah I've got a 3000 watt inverter, fridge and micro, plus since I don't park at home, I've been known to accidentally leave a light on for a week at a time. AGM batteries are awesome, just expensive.

Just curious but what is the life span on a AGM battery ?

Never had them in a truck, but the vibration resistance from the glass mat will definitely extend the lifespan.

A deep cycle battery possibly. With regular batteries one of the worst things you can do is repeated deep cycling.
cold climate starting requires more amps to roll the engine over, usually for a longer period of time at a reduced cranking amp available cycling the battery deeper from it's full charge compared to a warmer climate start.
Also there is a much greater thermal cycle in a cold climate. The increased demands of cold climate start up is going to create more heat in a colder battery then a warm climate.
I am very curious to know how the deep cycle batteries stand up in the trucks

All good info (20+yrs parts guy ). There are really only about 3-4 actual battery manufacturers. Johnson Controls, AGM, Gould, etc. In my experience, you're going to get a much better deal from someone who sell lots of truck batteries. The auto part folks are NOT the place. FleetPride & others are much better. I don't know who makes/made the ones sold @ Freightliner...but I have never had so many bad ones in my life. Interstate is great, & you can find them everywhere. Clean tight connections are the key. No deep cycle ever. They might work...but are designed for boats & R.V usage.

Yes one manufacturer usually makes batteries for several other companies with different spec.
It is not uncommon auto part stores to try and sell their brand of batteries with that fact.
"our batteries are made in the same factory as interstate and almost half the price"
and they should be half the price, they have thinner casings and dont have anchored plates
