Just bought co-pilot and it is the worst software I have used in years. It can not find TA's, rest areas, scales, pretty much anything. The directions stink and it won't do a "save as" when stops are added. Their database design stinks and the GPS always cuts in and out. It also crashes non stop and of course at the most crucial moments. I am disgusted with the software, especially at $300.00. Yes, my Garmin does a way better job!

woodfired turn off your poi's and it will work fine ill take a wager that it crashes within about 10 miles of your destination or turn its due to alk rushing the software to market supposedly there is a patch in the works will make it more like version 9 they should have waited but they didnt and lowbudget if there is a truck stop you stop at all the time save it a on of your favorites makes it nice and easy

I have been unable to find the self contained unit and emailed alk but haven't received a reply from them yet.

Co-pilot is a joke. Obviously whoever the programmer(s) was is absolutely clueless. Second week using it was put right on a non-truck route in LA. Wasn't pretty. Do NOT trust it in any way!! Crashes non-stop, can't find truck stops by name, can't just do a save as, have to rename something a 100 times if you add or make any changes to the file. Not user friendly, can't pan, zoom makes it crash (of course, when you need it most). In my previously life, I was a database administrator and I know the difference of a good or bad program and trust me this is not good! I even held on the phone for hours to see if there was anything tech support could do to help with the crashing, but nope.

I've been hearing Microsoft Streets & Trips is the way to go. Quite a bit of flexibility and integrates well with their other programs. Price sure is fairer.

Anyone want to buy this crap software from me that may doubt what I have to say, please feel free to contact me.

You need to check your computer, see how mach ram you have. It seems in what you are saying "crashes, can't pan, zoom and others" that you do not have enough ram or you have to many other apps running at the same time, thus using up the ram. I have been using ALK software for many years now and have never really hav had a problem that could not be fixed by contacting them.

The more memory and the faster a computer you have the better it will run.

My laptop has 1 gig of RAM. More than enough to run their program. I am able to run all my GIS (ArcView and the such where you run very detailed geospatial queries with government data) and CADD programs with zero issues. And those are real programs with real interfaces!
