Good morning everyone
Thank you all for helping me out I really appreciate everyone on here.
I wanted to ask about Elogs. I seem to hear mixed information.
A lot of drivers say they will quit once it's in full effect and a lot say you can "edit" them and it's no big deal.
How do they expect drivers to make a living?
Is there a change in amount of miles or hours per week they can run?
Please help very new to OTR feel very lost when it comes to ELogs seems like each month they lush it back.
I apologize if there is another thread with answers couldn't find anything up todate

most of it is conjecture and BS just go about your business and learn to drive
-
What do you mean? I hear they r mandatory in 2017
-
Here is the thing about ELOGS - You cannot manipulate them, like you can with paper logs. The HOS regs will still be the same then ( 12/17), as they are now. You can edit them, but there will always be a "trail" so to speak. Some shippers, brokers and 3PL's are going to require them before they do business with you. It is your basic adapt, overcome or perish scenrio. IMHO.

Starting Dec 2017. 2000 model year and newer trucks.
-
So you all are saying drivers will not go over 2200 miles a week? Or am I off
-
You will run the same amount of miles that you are driving now under the Hours of Service Regs. The ELOGS have nothing to do with how you run your truck, it has to do on the method of recording your hours.TequilaSunrise and w.h.o Thank this.

Nothing changes you can still run same miles and etc. it just records your hrs you can edit everything except drive time
Raiderfanatic and flood Thank this. -
Nobody knows really. we'll see.Quit? but where ? Once they are here and for everybody well see how it plays out. Sure they'll be pain in the ### at first. But that's good, Fmcsa and the egg heads who invented them will see how impractical they are. Trucks shut down at exit ramps and drivers refusing to leave walmart dcs and Krogers etc, Salinas will be fun to watch too. Mind my words, The HOS will change by the end of 2017.ramblingman and thejackal Thank this.

And I sure hope that some miracle is gonna happen and they will somehow suspend the ruling. But that's wishful thinking. Oida won't be able to overrule it by itself. So in a year now the mess starts for good.
ramblingman Thanks this.
