You could always use a piece of string to get belt length. Just subtract an inch or two from the length of the string after running it the proper route around the pulleys.

I’ve heard that too. Doing an Inframe, now. New damper, hopefully I can repair the front covers, with the correct bracket, maybe drill it out, and install bushings, hopefully be done with this problem.

Oh yeah, I used a string to come up with the adapters, when I upgraded to the Sanden compressor, to keep the same belt. It worked good. A little hard with the tensioner involved. Didn’t know at the time, there was a correct bracket/ belt. Saw it on another Truck one day. It was an ah ha moment. Lol. I’ve seen an add on bracket support, used with the York/ TCI compressor. Still have doubts about the new set up,time will tell.

Replacing the dampener on my 14.0 liter made a big difference in the overall smoothness and quietness of my engine and transmission.
The dampeners fail so slow over time it’s hard to notice the changes sometimes.
I guess it’s like loosing your hearing over time and you start slowly wondering why people mumble and don’t speak up anymore lol.

Well, 2 dealers didn’t have the belt in stock, though it’s out there, good #. Dealer claims GT4080562 is the common belt I need. It’s 3/10s of an inch shorter than the 4080565. Not a big deal, I’m going to check a few more dealers. Definitely want a common belt, readily available at Freightliner. You never know, same Dealer found my speedometer, ( updated part #) After being told it was unavailable by 3 other Dealers. And at a good price!

Should be able to get a belt at any TA with a Freightliner access point location.
I have gotten them there many times on the road.

Well, I went to my Truck yesterday, turns out I’ve been Running the 562 belt, I forgot, I had switched to the shorter belt after the conversion. I had forgotten all about it. Good news is I have 2 new ones already on board.
