help with hid and bulb out message.

    I have a 2014 730. I installed a hid kit with a relay harness to give it the proper power. I got a can bus ballast thinking that should get rid of the light out warning but it didn't. I know on cars a can bus ballast rectifies that problem.

    Has anyone dealt with this before? Am I missing something?

    I know with LEDs they make resistor kits. The body computer detects any changes in voltages and you have to fool it with a resistor. It's probably similar with the HID.

    I'll do some research.

    That is what a can bus ballast is, it has a built in resistor but it is not working on the volvo. I have a Ford car that it worked fine on.
