I'm sorry but that's just plain sugar coating a fact. You can compare this situation as the same. "I would like to get a job as a bank teller but I have robbed banks when I was a kid". 1 DUI and you get a second chance, 2 or more you don't.

OK for one, if you have "4 DUI'S" I would shocked to see if you even had your CDL yet, and two if you have a perfect driving record then why are you haveing issues finding a job? I am not trying to single you out, I totally understand your situation. But like these guys have said, I would not want you in my truck with a huge rap sheet on DUI's that is a huge liability. Yes we all make mistakes in life I have made plenty my self. I will admit I out ran 5 cops when I was a kid in my pickup buy guess what I am dealing with that mistake as I speek and that was over 5 years ago. Can I have a CDL? yes I can, am I insuable? it depends on the company I will work for... I have yet to set foot in a truck on my own and I have a CDL. There is one thing I have never done in my life, I have never Drank and Drove. Drinking and Driving is very STUPID! You will never drive a truck for another company unless it is your own bottom line... and then you will have to deal with DOT on top of that, they are looking for guys like you to take off the road and keep others safe. Bottom Line.

Good Luck to you and hope you are able to find a job that fits you best. We all pay for our mistakes one way or another.

That's just not true. There are companies that will hire a driver with a DUI after so many years and there's companies that will not touch them. But DOT has no idea what a driver has unless they pull his or her record and they are not going to do that unless there's cause. I believe a person has a right to fix himself and I think the companies that are not so critical should give them a shot. But it should only be 1 DUI and that person must go through an approved rehab and get reinstated by the MRO or whatever the company wants to call it.

Kansas, For you without sin cast the first stone. I have 20 years experience OTR and Local and failed random drug test 3 years ago. Boss sent me to rehab with DOT certified counselor and met all DOT requirements for return to work with no problems since and still had a job. Due to the recession I lost that job last year and no trucking company will hire me and everywhere I go their are dozens of others applying for a job and get hired with a better record than mine. Lose everything you have and don't get a break and see how it is.

My opinion don't listen to the haters. I understand that people make bad choices when they are younger and even sometimes as an adult. I use to be in and out of trouble and have a felong theft which is now 10 years old. Having children changed my life. I still have some problems with getting some jobs but I never give up. I might get many no's but eventually I get a yea. I'm in the Medical field not Trucking but the Medical field has many more laws on offendors. I was told by many businesses to find a new career path that I'd never again be hired by anyone well I've proved them wrong many times over. I am have my associate in Medical assisting and am working as a Medical Assistant. I am currently in college to become a Nurse. I am also getting my record expunged. That would be my advice to you as well. As long as your most recent offense is 1 year old you and you have no other charges in past year not even a speeding ticket. your eligible with the speeding/parking tickets but the other lawyer will argue that you haven't been a law biding citizen or you wouldn't have a speeding ticket or parking ticket. Once you get it expunged no one canlegally fire you, not hire you or hold it against you and you legally don't have to answer any questions about the offenses. My husband doesn't have felonies but many misdemeanors and he has been prehired through werner and is in trucking school now. My husband has more than 15 charges all 5 yrs or older. charges of paraphenelia, 2 drug abuse, theft, suspended license driving without them fictious tags disorderly conduct seatbelt, ect. so don't give up we never and we gotr what we wanted. Many people change their lives for the better. yea we still have to live with the consequences from our past but we can still make our dreams come true the same as any one else. These haters might think their better but their not they all skeletons in their closet or past as well and one day they will have to face their demons as well their times coming.
