Hey guys, wasnt sure which category to post this in but I'm in a bit of a strange dilemma. Looking for advice. I've been a GA resident with a valid CDL-A license going on 2 years now. Before moving to GA I previously lived in FL. Well apparently, I just found out my FL license was suspended on Jan 2019 for failure to pay auto insurance on my personal vehicle. Problem is I'm no longer living in FL and I've been a GA resident with "VALID" CDL since Feb 2018. Just added motorcycle endorsement with new picture even taken about a month ago actually. Weird part is that In Nov of 2018 (2months before suspension) i sold my car (That I brought from FL) to a dealer here in GA as a trade in and purchased a new car with no lapse in my insurance coverage. Cancelled old car policy/started new car same day. I have no idea how the heck this even happened. Or what to do to resolve it. I've been off the road about a month now and currently looking for a new carrier to drive for but nobody will touch me with this FL suspension on my record. What should I do? I'm worried this might stay on my record and affect all my future job opportunities. For something I didnt even do wrong :/
Help with license suspension. Clerical error?

Did you go to tag office in your county and turn off your tag that was on car you sold to dealer, if not FLA. got you for no insur. on that car? your insur. agent may be able to help you fix the prob. by going back and fixing the change of insur. on car you sold?

Im lost here. When you changed your CDL to Georgia your Florida license was automatically canceled. In fact it was Georgia that did it. The CDL database won't allow Georgia (or for that matter any other state) to issue a CDL until that Florida CDL is listed as canceled. Im not sure what Florida suspended. If your current Georgia CDL is valad (and I would make sure) there is no suspension. Maybe the advice to check out an attorney is for the best.

- Get with your insurance agent and ask them to send Florida proof of insurance for the time you lived in Florida and Georgia
- Go to the Georgia DMV and speak with a supervisor about your situation. Write down their name and title.
- Confirm that Florida has removed the suspension notice.

Do this; have a lawyer take care of it.
If your GA cdl is still good, there's some 2nd chance companies that will probably hire you and some 1099 small companies.
Try this one in Lilburn, GA

I think if a CDL is NOT valid, Georgia would not have issued anything at all. They would have turned him down at the Georgia DMV.
Its going to take a Lawyer to unsnarl this hitch in his drive. -
