im a swifty for...now... as well but you shouldnt be putting up with a truck like that, they have plenty of trucks to switch out. I dumped the one I had after a month of no ac and refused to go anywhere else until it was fixed, they gave me a new truck and I got to choose which I wanted.

    have you tried resetting it?
Here is the number to the qualcomm since I had an issue one night where mine froze up and I got the number and they reset it for me plus gave me the address to the unit so I could call and reset it myself anytime. 1-800-541-7490 get ahold of an operator and explain your problem, a reset might just fix it for you.

Unplug the QC at the dash, toss it in the sidebox and run paper logs to the nearest terminal and park it. You are required to use paper logs for the first 8 days anyway with a new truck and QC. Tell your DM you feel it is unsafe driving a truck with so much stripped out of it. You cannot be forced to drive what YOU consider unsafe and if anyone pressures you, get their name and call Phoenix, 800-800-2200, and talk to the Safety Department.

Yes, I drive a Swift truck and no company butt wipe has the power to jeopardize my life or my CDL, my career and my livelihood. You are a rookie but you're not a drone; just say not me, not ever.

DOT will want to see your last 8 days if/when they ask you for your logs. When you get a new/old truck you will still need to document the last 8 days so you must continue to use paper until the QC has recorded 8 days regardless whether or not your QC is working. Yes, our mentor program is broken. You were lucky to have a great mentor but I bet he didn't know this and that's just wrong.
