Help with tires

my local dealer told me to sign up. i am an ooida member, i better check into that too.

 

Do like I do. Buy them 2 at a time untill you get all 8.

I've gotten better prices from Bosselman shops for Michelin's on sale than from OOIDA or Flying Js fleet price.

 

Michelin advantage program does NOT give you national account pricing. Thats a joke. Not even close. National accounts literally pay half that. They practically give the tires away to national accounts so we all see them. But for us, they charge a ransom. That just irks me. Continentals and Bridgestones are just as good and a much better value. I usually get the best pricing from local dealers in NY and NJ.

 

I like their G399 steers. Their fuelmax unicircle caps have been good for me too on truck and trailer. G572 is a good tread easy on fuel.

 

The tire distributor where I buy most of my tires recently dropped their prices. I just bought 4 tires for my step deck for $219 (each).

 

Buy your tires in a state that dosen't charge sales tax on truck tires.

I know I'm a little late to this thread. But thought I would share my personal experience on a very affordable drive tire with exceptional wear and longevity versus the more expensive tires. Dont get me wrong. I'm a profound 'You get what you pay for' kind of guy. I run Michelin XDA2 on my steers. Best price I get for those is $525 a tire. Thats $15 over cost according to my tire guy.

But for drive tires I would never have thought Hankook tires were any good. But I've got 4 on my rear axle that are just shy of 2 years old with 250k miles on them and still have 85% tread. I've personally put 102k miles on these tires since I've had the truck.

I was originally going to replace all 8 tires in the back with either Michelin or Bridgestones,.. but after seeing how these tires are wearing I decided to replace the odd tires that were on the front drives with 4 more Hankook DL07. To my surprise, they are pretty #### cheap when compared to Michelin or Bridgestone. Hows $380 a tire get you? I got 4 tires installed for $1670. Thats cheaper than T/A will do for those crapola Samson tires they push. Guy I bought my truck from said I should expect another 2 years out of the Hankooks on the back and at least 4 - 5 yrs out of the new ones I just bought.
