The second cause of bearing failure behind lack of lubricant is over tightening. Try that with your dial indicator and see that it's still in spec.

Have you ever had cummins or Thermo King Factory reps come out and ask you how you repaired problems? Either you're a chef or you need a cookbook.

I have. 4 gen owner op and past ase master truck tech. Was taught by the old guys. And learned a better way to do it. Problem is everyone is different. If its you and only you working on it fine. I could get it #### close. Had years of doing it that way. Would if its a emergency or sidebof road. But ive learned a better proven saffer way. Wont go back.

Of course they do, so does National and CR. Apparently it's not on the ASE test. Because I was the guy they called when the dealership screwed it up and had to weld on a new Spindle and rebuild it. All of their mechanics are ase-certified. Just an employer's tool to baffle the public. The joke was ask someone else is what it meant.

Well it wasnt from doing it right.... problem is the under train and under pay mechanics. Nobody worth a c*** is will to do it. Ive done it most of my life. I know better. And i dont rush because its not worth it. Everyone says they dont make money as a truck tech. I did.

10/4. I ask, because I was taught the trade by a heavy equipment mechanic named James Mack from PA.

Really we are here all to learn not point fingers. Im still learning everyday. I allways took care of customers equipment like. It was mine. Forget the office guy telling you to work faster. Now i have my own truck I treat it like its a customers. So i dont get lazy.
