Don't worry about it before you even start ! Be optimistic and if you do have any issues make sure you communicate with the office a.s.a.p.

Well I'm sure what he would LIKE to do is to lay something hard and heavy up against the (so called) trainer's head. But that probably is NOT the best way to go.

Has he tried to actually talk out his problems with his trainer? If not, that should be his first step. If he has tried that and gotten no where, then maybe it is time to call his DM. But I would try the direct approach first.

Who knows, maybe this trainer has no idea how he is coming across. Or, maybe he is just a jerk. . .

This sounds like the best place to start but don't think it will do much good. From what I understand from my phone calls, he thinks he is one of their best drivers and top earners for Roehl ie. brags about how much he makes and bonus right after this. Sounds like he will get as many miles humanly possible at any cost. Just because he is a big money maker does not mean he is good at being a trainer. He seems more concern with the miles than the training part.

a driver-trainer....?? you bet your "bippy" they do....ALL MILES PAID to the trainer while the truck is rolling. now, add into this using the student as a team driver, at total "truck miles" of say 6000 miles, #.40¢ per mile, you have $2,400 for the week, then multiply that by about 48 weeks, you got $ 115,200 for the year, and this does not include any bonus money the trainer gets as well......

He might not be a good person or trainer but 3500 miles for two people is really nothing. I hope you new drivers aren't thinking that he is being pushed hard. 7000 miles then I would definitely say he is running him hard.
