Me personally, I enjoy driving a modern fleet freightshaker decent visibility, I even use the rear window, comes In handy when you have to blindside in off the street.

To each their own, but i could care less and prefer not to drive a big hood

Thats why there are different makes and models.

Yes, it is a valid question. I dont disagree. But, some of the responses after the original post make me wonder. Kind of gives me flashbacks of the YouTube video of the black Pete blowing the red light and slamming into a school bus. I'd look for it and link it, but I don't have the time at the moment.

Again, I don't disagree. But, everyone starts somewhere. Even if it is a POS. I started in a single axle Ford L8000. Biggest POS I've ever laid eyes on. I know there's worse out there, I'm just not sure where. It didn't get much better until I'd been driving a while.

I've seen many, many very good drivers running Freightliners and Volvo's. I've also seen some real knuckleheads driving Pete's. Actually, around here, it's rather typical.

The truck doesn't make the driver good or bad. It's just a truck.

A Pete or KW may ATTRACT good drivers, that may be true. The same could be said for any brand though. But, having a large car doesn't make a great driver by any means

That's how it USED to be, anyway, before anybody could buy a worn out Werner truck. Driving a Pete years ago was indeed a luxury. I drove dozens of non-Pete trucks for over 20 years before I got my own. People that drove Pete's back then, were kind of like H-D riders, they were proud of what they drove, and a smart boss ran Pete's or KW's, and got good rivers. That's the way it was.
