Not sure how breakdown pay works on a dedicated account, but this is the way it works with I think most companies:
1. Sundays don't count
2. The first 24 hours don't count
3. You have to be available for dispatch so if you are at home taking home time, breakdown doesn't pay during that time.
4. You can be in another state in a motel, and it will count as long as you are available for dispatch.
It's not complicated, they just want to bull you and hope to get by with it.
Help!!!

unfortunately with this this account because we get a guaranteed amount of miles per week, we don't get many of the other perks non dedicated accounts get. The only thing we get or suppose to get is after 4 business days of being broke down, we are suppose to be reseated. Which we just were. Got into a 2013 international. We will move in tomorrow morning ad hopefully get in the road soon.
-
They got us into an international. We will move in tomorrow morning. As far as our old truck goes, they fixed the DEF and were doing a manual regen. The radiator popped. They had to order parts to get the radiator put back in the truck. I guess by popped they meant blew!! Good thing I don't have to worry about that anymore. Let's see what quirks the international has in store for us...
-
US Xpress had a lot of problems with the Internationals. Their getting rid of them from the fleet. We liked our ProStar......before it started on fire. LOL.
On the plus side, you don't need to put def in it. -
well we
are happy to have any truck. Just to get miles. No miles = no money. And while we do live on the cheap there is no need for us to not have a paycheck... So bring on the miles. -
They are getting rid of the 12 freightshakers that has the Cummins motor because of breakdown issues. Most of it is all this emissions crap they had to put on them. That's why Cummins stopped building the old red tops.
-
Well good cuz cuz they were a mess. But this International doesn't take any DEF. Which is alien to us. I guess it doesn't require te detergent? -
International uses what they call advanced EGR on their Maxxforce engines. Some of them run great and others fall flat on their faces a lot of the time. What's sad is the block for the 13 and 15 are the old C-13 and C-15 blocks, Navistar just threw their emissions and fuel system on them, which ruined a great pulling motor.
No DEF was a major selling strategy and a lot of companies bought them up knowing they could save a ton of money by not having to buy the DEF. I think a lot of companies complained and that's why they are offering the Cummins in them again. I don't know about the most recent engines but I know that Navistar was paying heavy fines for every Maxxforce they installed in a truck because they weren't EPA compliant at the time. This was back in 2012 so they may or may not have got them compliant. Hope that truck works out for the two of you. -
Navistar is almost done with it's transition to being fully EPA compliant using a mix of it's maxxforce engines retrofitted with SCR(DEF) and cummins DEF equipped engines. They have taken a lot of losses and there credit rating is in the toilet. I hope they figure it out and get it turned around.STap Thanks this.

Went truck shopping couple weeks ago. EVERY SINGLE Brand trucks LOT was empty. NOT a single sleeper on LOT EXCEPT International. Their lot was LOADED with trucks. Look at their stock. It has plummeted. Rumor going around their going out of business. I wonder if they fixed their problems myself.
