Trainers were students just a few weeks before you get in the cab...

Huh? The trainers you'll get are state certified they will also do your road/pre trip test. You'll also have a few none state certified trainers but they are not swift employees most of them have never actually worked for swift but worked for central at one point and most will never want to work for swift

I say six months because many higher paying companies...especially local ones require six months...some a year.

    Shhhhh...industry secret!

...might be feeling nice today though.

    1) keep your doors closed and the pedal pressed.
    2) truck stops mark EVERYTHING up. Don't buy unless you need it badly!
    3) when able, park and shop at Walmart. Food is better, stuff is cheaper.
    4) don't work for swift

...kidding about the last one. I couldn't resist.

Well, it's all pretty common sense stuff. I can't speak for what swift drivers make, so I really was kidding on the 4th thing. I do have a sick sense of humor though...

The issue with new drivers doesn't seem to be making the money, it's keeping it.

Yea I can't say what they make either but I knew the company wasn't for me During orientation and training with them.

And yes my plan is to not spend money at all out on the road and if I do it's at a Walmart for a few days worth of good food.
