Kind of like finding a girlfriend or wife.... You have to try out a few before you hit upon the one.
As always Chinatown, you are the man!

Joetruxk does Henderson take out perdium if they do how much and is there an administrative charge ?
-
Perdium is your choice, I get it and have not seen a charge. But the dollar a week for the fuel card and a dollar for com checks really annoys me, they told me about it and it's part of the job.DrivingLikeMad Thanks this.
-
How much will they let you take for perdium ?
What is com checks? -
I don't remember how much, it is an amount the government sets.
Com checks are checks you write to pay for lumpers (people who unload the truck) and I think you can use them for a pay advance but I stay away from any pay advance.DrivingLikeMad Thanks this. -
Thanks
How long did you have to otr with a trainer? -
It depends on your skills 4 to 6 weeks, I was out 4 weeks but I drove class B before Henderson.

Yea drove straight trucks and dump trucks on the farm long before I had a class c license.
Been toting large boats around behind under rated vehicles all my life.
The short otr training process I here about with Henderson is what sold me.
They give you 100 a week while in school for 4 weeks what about the 1st week you go otr with a trainer ? They advance you anything or what. Take it you wait for your 1st check at the end of the week?
I have been putting off school to get my dad situated and now just waiting out winter, funds are starting to get down to the wire.SHOJim Thanks this. -
Was your trainer someone from the region you live in? I was curious how you get paired with a trainer.
-
Who ever is available will be your trainer, if you have a problem with them they will find you another.
The most important thing for you to work on is getting that class A, after that all things can be worked out. Put in at least a year with your first company and if you are not happy you can move on.DrivingLikeMad Thanks this.
