We run Herds on our trucks and are happy with them. Both have survived glancing hits on moose with no damage, but not a complete t-bone yet.

I had the aliarc on a comapany truck, they seem cheaply built. as mentioned above the screws are a pain in the neck. do not recomend

as an owner I put a Heard on my T880. I hit a deer and a turkey with it, not a scratch on it. solid built product.

I got the areo plus model for my truck, comes with all the bells and whistles. I definitely recommend the slam jams and the lift assist. I can lift my bumper with one finger. I will always buy a heard. I recommended them to my company after they had 3 trucks hit 3 deers in a month totaling around 100,000 in damage not counting lost time. you wont be sorry with a heard.

I think he means the two screws that have to be taken out to fold it down in order to open the hood.

My biggest concern with any of them is if one ends up bending the frame because of the impact on the bumper, but I haven't seen it happen yet.

I think when you get to the point of bending a frame it'd probably happen regardless of what bumper is hanging off the front end.

There was a fella on Heavy Equipment Forum that had as I recall an F350 or 250 with a Ranchhand bumber on it. He got hit by a VW bug from the side. Damage was minor to look at it, but as I recall it ended up tweaking his frame and they totaled it. That's a lot different than a strike from the front though.
