    What does all this PAY??

You know when it will stop? When drivers in general quit working for "coolie" carriers and get paid for their time! In the meantime carriers such as "PAM" have zero incentive to ensure that you are kept productive,

Driver shortage my butt, just a shortage of good paying, non-coolie carriers to work for.

I missed that. You drive around for free looking for their equipment?

Hell I've had companies BT from NC to Pa to load in SC. #### sure would not have done that for free.

Driving around for free searching for equipment is about the most bizarre thing I have ever heard.

It's funny, the battle cry of "Stop hauling cheap freight!" is common.

How about before that, you "Stop trailer search parties for FREE!?"

Not getting paid for driving? Why would anyone do that?

Occasionally I will do a small favour to help out, or if I think I am also getting some consideration in return, but as a normal course of activity? No way.

This is a mega carrier problem. The "stop hauling cheap freight" crowd usually has one or maybe a handful of trailers and doesn't need a computer to tell them where they are.

What's worse is chasing a couple trailers that aren't there and then you find one....

    Ten seconds behind another driver.

That's happened before. Two dispatchers not communicating with each other.

I've showed up to pick a load up before and there's two of our drivers already there. We all have the same pickup number.

And all three of us are a day late. :)

No, we get paid to "search" for trailers but the pay NEVER really compensates for all the hassle it involves and loss of real productivity. What? So long as we get paid $10 hour for our time, then that's ok? so long as we're not doing it for free? That's all it takes to make some of you "happy and satisfied"?

NO, get compensated for ALL your time. From the time you drop ypur loaded trailer until you leave with your MT wagon it should be paid hourly. Quit working for the sweat shop carriers.

I've never had that problem, our trailers have satilite tracking, they can see where everyone is any anytime.

Does pam have something like that? Maybe they just arent useing it to their advantage........

I know SNI used to brag about their satilite tracking stuff yet was always loseing trailers anyway lol
