Hello, everyone. I'm taking training from Rocky Mountain Truck Driving School in Albuquerque, just got my permit, in the trucks next week. If things go well, I'll get my Class A in January. I've wanted to work OTR for a long time, then I was a single Dad for 15 years, started making heavy dollars in town. Now, no strings attached, and I really need to get something going. A couple of "bottom feeders" have provided pre-approval offers, but I don't really put too much weight on that. I drove a straight truck reefer w/Cummins 350 turbo for 4 years and 500K miles, but there wasn't anything huge and heavy hooked on the back of the box. It seems that if I don't sweat the small stuff and do what I'm supposed to, I should get along OK. In the carpenter's union, they have a 3 year apprentice program, you're a wood worm the whole time, and even then you have to be a good boy. I'm looking forward to making it rain out there on American highways. (some Canadian highways if I go with Con-way) Please let me know your thoughts and experiences. Thanks.
