Some folks like 1000 rpm. You do not have dpf, so as long as your oil pressure is up. At like 600 my egr 12.7 was about 20 oil pressure, bump rpm to 900 it was around 40 psi. Low idle is not good for your cam, and mains.

    Thanks.
    If there's one thing I've got going it's oil pressure. Sometimes I've worried too much. Gauge sits around 32-35psi when @ 600rpm & 175°-180° operating temp, & @ 900rpm right about 48-52psi.
Truck burns about 1gal of oil every 15k.

Light loads, mostly 40k gross & under. Last IFTA was 9.01. Getting ready to do the second quarter this week..

One gal every 15000 is normal. Your oil pressure must be at 70 when driving? Sounds like that engine was rebuilt not long ago.

Yes for a series 60 it's not abnormal. You brand new car will burn a quart of oil every oil change if ran a lot, or worked a lot, or revved a lot.

Yeah, it's high. Gauge has 25psi increments. Looks like about 68-70 right after oil change @70mph & about 62-65 when a gal low. I've seen almost 80psi on a 30° morning cold start.

Not sure about the rebuild.? Folks I got it from said it was rebuilt 100k ish ago. No papers to support that. As we all know, could be an out right lie. Currently shows 978,773 on the clock..

It was inramed. Or bottom end was rebuilt. And new oil pump. Tired 60 series engines have 50 oil pressure cruising.
