Hey Brickman,
How would you rate the overall driving and picking up loads? Are there any loads that were more difficult than others, and did u have to do a lot of waiting to get paperwork and loads in order?
Thanks,
Jewell

Rico...what influenced your choice of going with Decker over one of the other divisions?
-
Decker is headquartered/ has their main terminal less that an hour from my house.
-
Makes sense! LOL
-
Decker didn't move to N. Jackson. That is PDS (Pam Dedicated Services), PAM's team operation. Decker moved it's operations to Tontitown and new drivers go there for orientation and truck assignments. However, Decker does have a terminal in Willard, OH with a small shop. But they do not dispatch out of there.
But, for now, Decker still has it's own set of rules and procedures... I wouldn't plan on them lasting long though.... -
for those wondering about driving autoshift trucks (they aren't automatics, just computer shifted manual transmissions).
Step 1 - Put it in Drive
Spep 2 - press gas pedal
That about covers it LOL.... -
Thanks for the clarification. I remember hearing that they weren't in the same place they used to be when I worked there, but I though they were still in Jersey.
I know N. Jackson is PDS's terminal. The last 4 months I was with PTSI was teaming with my then girlfriend at PDS. Also, I have been to the Willard yard several times. There's a funny story about the last time I was there, but I'll save it for another time.

Thanks for the update Chip, seems my info was outdated as well. Good lookin out. Just curious as to why you don't think they will last long? Will all their drivers be integrated into PAM Transport, officially? If so is that a good thing or bad thing? I start school in 7 days so if I need to rethink going with the Decker division please let me know. More importantly if the Decker is on its way out the perhaps I should just attach myself to PAM Transport from the start. ? -
I deleted this post because I accidentally posted last comment twice

I just got off the phone with a PAM dispatcher, and he informed me that Decker's headquarters is in Willard, OH. Decker does dispatch out of this location. He did inform me that PAM handles dispatching calls for Decker on the weekends, however.
