It's a D16, I think the truck is owned by volvo as sort of a PR project.

OK. Quite lame, it should be easy to get 1600 hp out of it. For a D12 that would have been quite ok.

    Thank You for the congratulations

Far_Call...............THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! without your knowledge and expertise in how injectors function it wouldn't have been possible.....your injectors caused people to stop and turn their heads to listen. I agree there is more in it.........next time I'll bring my own chains and straps to stop the chassis from rising to put a damper on the wheel hop

The Volvo is owned by Mack Trucks which is a sister company of Volvo. It is a company sponsored drag race truck with a D16. It uses two Holset VG turbos with dual aftercoolers, split intakes, and exhaust manifolds. It is a single axle truck with the 445/50R22.5 tires. I would assume that it has a locking differential in the rear.

The truck never hooked the tires to the rollers.......I heard someone say that they expected the truck to put down approximately 1650 Hp. I know the 1095 came up in a flash after the dyno operator lifted his foot to try and get traction. Otherwise it would spin out around 450 Hp while trying to load it normally.

Lenny there is always a reason for not achieving the number.........this time it was traction and had nothing to do with how the engine was performing in the Volvo.

My truck didn't come off the governor until 1425 Hp and this shows up in the dyno print out with engine RPM bouncing all over the place. Unfortunately this caused issues with wheel hop in my dyno runs. The dyno computer actually aborted the first run, because the rollers had too much of a differential in speed to read the power accurately............if you're not at the event to watch what happened......don't criticize people for the results you think they should have achieved. First hand knowledge is golden. After watching the Volvo run, I felt it would have given me a dressing down if it would have hooked up...........it is very impressive in my opinion

I didn't say it was engines fault, I just thought it was some private built engine that was not tuned to max. I'm a little bit disappointed it was factory built truck, it means there is no ECM tuning skills available for public, in US. But anyway, in future Volvo engines will rule the horsepower war in North-America, they have much more capacity than any US origin engine.
