Hi I am new to this site. Right now I am a landscaper from Wando, SC and have been for the last six years, during which I have considered trucking many times as my career. Truly speaking, I have always been fascinated by 18 wheelers. I have finally decided to go for it after much thought of the sacrifices I would have to make. I am married and have one son nicknamed "Bub", he's only two but loves to fish with his Dad already.
I joined this website to gain some knowledge about the trucking world. I plan to go to school in March so in the mean time I will be researching schools and which companies I really want to work for in order to make the most of my new career choice.
Hey, hello

Welcome to the forum. Being gone from Bub won't be much fun for either of you. Good luck, best wishes, and again...Welcome!

Thanks y'all I look forward to the change, however I will miss my family but we will get through it and adjust. I was thinking I should get a manual or something to start studying now so that I can be as prepared as possible on the knowledge to do well in March. What is the best book/manual to start looking at and where would one find a copy of it?

Head to your local DMV. They should have them for your CDL and endorsements.
