Tracking down my paternal grandfather's record is a bit more difficult as he was still a Scotsman living in Argentina when WW 1 broke out. I believe the British government is doing the same digitization, but tracking down his record has proved to be a bit more difficult. -

EDIT: They were so prevalent and so annoying that I went out and looked up the phenomenon. I believe the term I found was 'paper tags'. I think that's right. If it's not I'd appreciate correction so I can sound less stupid in the future. -
Brickwall Thanks this.

The same with some of the civilian contractor FOBets for disability.

Yeah I shouldn't be talking here. It's in poor taste. I'll admit mocking people for pretending to be military is fun, but I shouldn't be mocking people who actually served for having health conditions that could possibly be real. One of the crappy things about how these last few wars have played out is that the concept of 'front line' has gotten pretty blurry. There were an awful lot of air force reserve guys I knew 10 or so years back who had gotten sent to sit on 50 cals on top of supply convoys in Iraq. Lots of opportunities to get PTSD doing that job. Your MOS might be Supply Clerk II... Which just means you were in a bad situation without proper training. I wonder how PTSD could result from that?
