Yesterday I went to an estate sale in the northern 'burbs of Detroit. I went because of a thing I spotted in one of the pics that made me drive 100 miles to it. Didn't get that but I walked out of there $100 poorer.

Went back today to find more crap was pulled out and put on display, most of it is worth scrap but the three things I got today were a bunch of military connectors, a few power supplies and a box of telex mics.

In the box, there are 66ts, 602ts a couple clark headsets (need work on them) but two 205 differential mics, which I heard about but never saw. Everything works, tried it out on the bench.

Have you heard of a 205 before?

The 205 is an aircraft Mic. Carbon I think maybe. The 66T has a nice element, although a cheap thin plastic case. The 66ts and 602ts are probably the only ones I'd use out of the bunch. Never had any use for carbon stuff.

It isn't an EV, it has a rounded front cover and a telex back plate on it, I found the EV cut sheet for their version of a 205 in my collection but nothing on the Telex version in it or on the other mic sites.

Oh well, it maybe a contracted mic for the CIA or FBI or some other phantom agency.

Very possibly it could have been used for military Aviation. Multiple manufacturers will often be awarded government contracts to build the same part.

Yeah you could be right, I did get about ten different military mics in the box and some unusual headsets with the collection. I id'd maybe 80% of them thanks to a book that came along with the collection.
