Yeah I graduted HS in the DFW area. DFW is crippled by a forecast of flurries. A dusting of snow causes widespread cannibalism.

Quite possibly the worst drivers in the US, and for the life of me I can't imagine why they are.....

Last time I was in the DFW area during a snowfall at morning rush hour, I was on a major street (3 lanes each direction), with probably more than 100 cars sitting at the same red light. Light turned green, followed by the sound of 100 cars all spinning their tires simultaneously with their drive-ends of their cars all started sliding sideways. I put my Eaton-Fuller into second, slowly eased off the clutch then threaded around all these idiots, and was the ONLY vehicle to clear the intersection before the light turned red again.

I soon found a place to pull over, and wait for traffic to die-down.....

California drivers are crazy, but they're good at it. Other places......not so much. We end up with a mix of Utards and California drivers, plus a few natives. The three don't necessarily mix well. Throw in some Albertans and it really gets fun!

Utards, is that your name for the neighbors to the south? If so, it fits quite well.

Diesel Dave, BennysPennys and Oxbow Thank this.

Often that is for good reason. Any threat of snow or ice down in those southern states should be taken seriously as they are never able to adequately prepare for it. What would be a minorly inconvenient weather event up north will grind a city like Houston or Atlanta to a halt with wrecks everywhere.

We moved from Wisconsin to Midland County Tx in 2013, we were amazed the drivers here can’t even drive in the rain!
